(Aurora, ON, March 3, 2009) - Steve Taylor of Bigwin Drive in Aurora successfully sculpted a life size dinosaur on his front lawn and invited the entire community to stop by and make a donation towards the Children’s Wish Foundation. Hot dogs and coffee were served and Lois joined special guests from the Aurora Fire Department and Toronto Raptors Mascot and Dance Pack along with former Blue Jay Pitcher Paul Spoljaric and Aurora Mayor Phyllis Morris. Lois was pleased to commend this fine community effort in the House of Commons on March 3, 2009:

Mr. Speaker,
Paleontologists need only travel as far as Aurora Ontario to find Dinosaurs rising out of the earth! For its second year, the Aurorasaurus Community Event took place last weekend on Bigwin Drive.
Steve Taylor, the unsung hero behind this colossal endeavor, arranges to have 80 tons of snow delivered to his front yard in mid February. Out of this, with days of his time invested, Steve creates a 50 foot long, 20 Foot High Dinosaur, complete with a mouth full of teeth. Mr. Speaker it is a sight to behold!
Steve, together with a very special group of neighbors and friends, invites Aurora to attend the event and to make a contribution to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
This year, Steve and his volunteers and helpers helped raise more than $3000.00 in cold cash for the Children’s Wish Foundation.
Our community and the many children who will benefit from his efforts thank Steve, his family and the Bigwin Drive neighbourhood for their generosity.
Aurora is a better place because you live here!
Lois Brown, MP Newmarket-Aurora
