(Newmarket-Aurora, ON, May 6, 2011) - Newmarket-Aurora MP Lois Brown today welcomed the latest Statistics Canada report confirming that over 58,000 net new jobs were created in April.
“This week Canadians chose a strong, stable, national Conservative majority government focused on what matters – Canada’s economic recovery and creating more jobs,” said MP Brown. “Canada’s continued job growth once again shows our Government is on the right track for Canadian families.”
Canada has created nearly 540,000 jobs since July 2009 and our economy has grown for six straight quarters.
“We need to stay the course with our prudent, low-tax plan to protect and create jobs, as too many Canadians are still looking for work and the global economic recovery still remains fragile,” said Brown. “I look forward to the introduction and passing of the Next Phase of Canada’s Economic Action Plan: A Low-Tax Plan for Jobs and Growth once Parliament resumes to keep Canada’s economy and job growth on track.”
