MP BROWN BRINGS GOOD NEWS TO AURORA SENIORS ASSOCIATION

Newmarket-Aurora MP Lois Brown brought welcome news with her to the Town of Aurora’s Volunteer Appreciation Night held Wednesday, April 15 at the Aurora Seniors’ Centre.

Ms. Brown announced that the Aurora Seniors Association (ASA) was successful in applying to the New Horizons for Seniors – Capital Assistance program administered through Human Resources and Skills Development Canada. A total of $4,720 has been awarded to assist in the replacement of program equipment. The funds will be used to upgrade existing computer and woodshop equipment.

“Congratulations to President Charles Sequeira and members of the Aurora Seniors Association for their successful application,” said Ms. Brown. “Your ongoing effort, dedication and commitment have made the Aurora Seniors Association a wonderful asset to our community and model for others to follow. I am pleased to bring you this welcome news at such an important evening held during National Volunteer Month. The New Horizons grant will help you continue to deliver quality programs and activities for Aurora’s seniors."
