Newmarket-Aurora MP Lois Brown was presented with a summary report of the Chinese Canadian Political Action Committee of Ontario’s Economic Forum held recently on January 12.
CCPACO President Peter Chen made the presentation at her constituency office in Newmarket on Friday.
Ms. Brown confirmed that the report will be delivered to Finance Minister Jim Flaherty and become part of the federal government’s Pre Budget consultations.
“I appreciate the hard work and participation of the CCPACO in organizing such an extensive consultation process with their membership,” said Lois Brown. “I anticipate the many excellent suggestions submitted will be given serious consideration as we work towards delivering the upcoming budget. I look forward to presenting this report immediately to Minister Flaherty and the Finance Committee.”
Mr. Chen advised MP Lois Brown that the report represented the work of over fifty participants. Representatives from a variety of business sectors including finance, taxation, real estate, construction, immigration, investment, energy and small business all contributed their suggestions for Canada’s economic future.
“It’s important that all communities work together to arrive at the best possible solutions to facilitate Canada’s economic recovery. The Conservative government values the contributions of the Chinese Canadian Political Action Committee of Ontario and I look forward to continuing to work with Mr. Chen and CCPACO members in the months ahead.”
