(Newmarket-Aurora, ON) - Newmarket-Aurora MP Lois Brown is seeking community feedback ahead of the March 2010 federal budget.
Residents are invited to submit their comments at a public Pre-Budget Consultation meeting on Monday, January 18 from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Aurora Town Hall located at 1 Municipal Drive.
Oral and written comments will be accepted. Those wishing to make a presentation will need to pre-register through the constituency office ahead of time.
“This is an excellent opportunity for the community to provide input on their government's priorities over the next year as we look at how to best lead Canada to full economic recovery,” said MP Brown.
MP Brown will also be looking for responses to the following questions:
- To what extent has Canada’s Economic Action Plan been effective in stimulating activity in your industry, sector or community?
- What suggestions do you have for improving the effectiveness of the federal government’s stimulus measures?
- What steps should the government take to improve the competitiveness of the Canadian economy and ensure that Canada continues to attract investment and create jobs once the recovery is achieved and the Economic Action Plan is wound down?
- Over what time period should the federal government bring the budget back into balance?
